Restaurant Summary by Allan Borgen:

China Point is one of my favorite Chinese restaurants in the Inland Empire. Located in Rancho Cucamonga, this small nicely decorated restaurant is one of those restaurants that if you are in a hurry, you should not eat here. Possibly turning customers away may seem odd, but the chef is very serious about the high quality of the food he prepares and will not take shortcuts or compromise his high standards. Remember great food cannot be rushed. The owners, Judy and Simon Chang are gracious people who really want to please all of their customers and I for one appreciate them not wanting to become a Chinese fast food restaurant. That’s why this restaurant is so special.

You must try the Honey Walnut Shrimp, Hot Szechwan Eggplant which is the BEST I’ve ever had, and the juicy, Handmade Steamed Dumplings.

Feed Me 411 is a great place to discuss local restaurants in the Inland Empire. We encourage constructive criticism, but bashing will be removed.

  1. China Point definitely has, in my humble opinion, the best Chinese food I’ve ever wrapped my palette around. All the food is cooked fresh, but don’t expect “fast food” Chinese here. They actually have signs posted letting you know that you will wait longer for your food than fast food Chinese locations. That’s perfectly fine with me. Every dish I’ve had has been perfectly cooked (tender meats, crispy vegetables, flavorful sauces), and in all honesty, we didn’t wait all that long for our food. If you are going to go there for the first time, I suggest going there for lunch as they have wonderful lunch specials all week long.

  2. Once again, Allan, you’ve turned us on to a little gem of a place! We had lunch today at China Point, and were very pleased. We tried today’s special, which was pepper steak for only $6.95. The egg roll was definitely made on premise, the pepper steak was very tender, both the fried rice (me) and the steamed rice (Don) were cooked to perfection, and there was so much leftover we now have enough for a second helping later in the day.

We’ve been watching you on The Let’s Dine Out Show and reading your printed reviews pretty much ever since we moved to the IE in 1990, and so far we have only disagreed with your review ONCE (Las Playas in Fontana was a disappointing experience).
