Restaurant Summary by Allan Borgen:
Peru offers a rich variety of foods heavily influenced by Spain, China, Italy, Japan and West Africa. El Rico Pollo in San Bernardino is one unique restaurant that you would find in Los Angeles. Led by Chef Abel Salvadore is a master at creating both original as well as traditional Peruvian dishes using a variety of common ingredient that most chefs use like potatoes, rice, pasta, corn, chicken, lamb, pork and beef along with chilies grown only in Peru. The dining room may be simply decorated, but the food is exciting and delicious. These attributes along with awfully good prices are why I dine here again and again…
If you’ve never tried Peruvian food before folks, this is a must try. Here are a few of my favorite dishes at El Rico Pollo Peruvian Cuisine and Grill:
You have to try the Lomo Saltado, a very popular dish in Peru which is strips of sirloin steak sautéed with red onions tomatoes soy sauce vinegar cilantro snitches french fries and white rice. For you MEAT LOVERS out there, you have to try the Parillada Mixta, this is a huge portion of grilled top sirloin, pork chop, chicken, sausage and beef hearts skewers, all served over french fries with a huge salad.
