Restaurant Summary by Allan Borgen:

Tucked away in a small center on Colton Ave and Texas Ave. in Redlands, Innabi  is a terrific little restaurant serving large portions of deli sandwiches and Mediterranean dishes at very affordable prices. The décor is all New York with lots of pictures of people, places and memorabilia from New York including a large scale train that circles the entire dining room. The menu is straight forward with a large selection of traditional breakfast, lunch and dinner entrees to choose from.

Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, Innabi serves up some great American breakfast, lunch and dinner items as well as an outstanding array of Middle Eastern dishes that I just love. The restaurant is all New York from pictures of famous New York athletes, street signs, license plates from New York and lots of pictures of old time celebrities as well as large scale electric train that circles the restaurant. There is nothing fancy here, just fresh, delicious food at very reasonable prices.

For breakfast, may I suggest the Corned Beef Hash & Eggs $4.95 and the Pastrami Omelet $4.95. The Corned Beef Hash consisted of real corned beef that is chopped with  potatoes and grilled until crisp and served with two eggs, toast and hash brown. The hash was prepared just as I requested (crisp) and complimented eggs. The Pastrami Omelet featured Boars Head Pastrami (Only Boars Head Deli meats are served here) mixed into a fluffy 3 egg omelet and served with the hash browns and toast. The omelet was filling and if you love meat, you will enjoy both of these dishes. They also have lots of traditional breakfast items like pancakes, other omelet’s, and egg dishes, and some wonderful breakfast sandwiches.

Speaking of Sandwiches, Innabi offers a variety of New York deli favorites including the Brooklyn Dodgers Sandwich $5.95, corned beef, hard salami and Swiss cheese on rye bread, The impressive 12″ Godfather Sub, $6.99, French roll stuffed with Genoa salami, mortadella, ham, capicola, provolone cheese, topped with olive oil, vinegar, oregano, lettuce, tomato, sliced red onions, pickles, and the unique Chicken Caesar Wrap $4.95, flour tortilla filled with fresh romaine lettuce, grilled chicken, croutons, tomatoes, shaved Parmesan cheese and Caesar dressing.  One of my favorite items served here is the Greek Gyro, a beef & lamb mixture that is carved off of a vertical rotisserie and served in a pita bread or on top of a large Greek Salad with romaine lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, feta cheese and kalamata olives with a olive oil lemon herb dressing. The salad was cold, crisp and the meat was juicy and really flavorful. The salad looked so good when it was served to me that a customer who just walked into the restaurant ask me what it was and ordered it. This is one great salad and at only $7.99, it has to be the steal of the century! ,

From the Middle Eastern side of the menu I tried the Lamb Kabob Dinner $10.95 and the marvelous Meshawi Dinner Plate $13.95. The lamb kabob consisted of two skewers of marinated and grilled large chunks of lamb with green peppers and onions served with a large mound of rice, hummus, pita bread, a grilled tomato stuffed with feta cheese and a small salad. The lamb was tender, juicy and perfectly delicious. If you are really hungry and want to pamper yourself, try the Meshawi dinner plate. This fantastic plate featured one skewer of marinated filet mignon kabobs, one skewer of marinated chicken kebobs and a tasty kabob called Kifta which is seasoned ground beef that is oval shaped and grilled. This too comes with rice, pita bread, hummus and a salad.

For dessert, don’t forget to try some Baklava or one of their daily homemade desserts. Innabi also does a great job of catering large or small parties or functions and does an outstanding job featuring a variety of cuisines, not just Middle Eastern. I have experienced his catered food and it was excellent. So there you have it, tasty food at affordable prices. Happy Eating!
