Restaurant Summary by Allan Borgen:
The Inland Empire has lots of small Mexican restaurants, but Juanita’s III Fine Mexican Food in Rancho Cucamonga remains one of the best. Once the site of an old Taco Bell restaurant, Juanita’s features a variety of delicious traditional dishes that are all made from family recipes.
Although Juanita’s III in Rancho Cucamonga has only been operating for a short time, their original site in Ontario has been a popular Mexican take out stand since 1985, with the food actually dating back more than fifty years.
In 1957, two sisters, Maria and Rosa Tucker, started selling tacos and burritos out of a small grocery store they owned in order to supplement their income. Their Mexican food turned out to be a big hit, so they decided to trade in their grocery business for a restaurant.
Maria and Rosa are actually responsible for more than fifteen popular Mexican restaurants in the area. However, Juanita’s III is one of the few original restaurants still owned by the Tucker family.
Using only the freshest of vegetables and best cuts of meat, everything featured on the menu, except the corn tortillas and guacamole are made fresh on the premises daily including their terrific flour tortillas. Being family owned and operated by Tina and David Tucker, you can be assured that lots of love and attention goes into all of their food. No wonder it has been a favorite of the local’s for all of these years!
My favorites include the Original Red Chile all meat burrito made with pork, the spicy Chile Verde Dinner Plate served with delicious rice and beans, the unique Chile Relleno & Chile Verde Burrito, the huge and delicious Carne Asada Nachos, the Chicken Quesadilla, and of course, their fried tacos.
Whether you dine inside or on their outdoor patio, your entire family will surely love the food.
