La Mexicana is a quaint clean family owned restaurant serving located just off Yucaipa Blvd in Yucaipa in a small strip center. The menu features a multitude of delicious authentic family dishes from the Guadalajara region of Mexico, and most everything is made fresh daily in the kitchen including their flour tortillas. The aromas that filter through the dining room are incredible. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner7 days a week, La Mexicana is truly a real culinary find. For breakfast, Chilaquiles, tortilla chips sautéed with a nice red chili sauce and served with two eggs, potatoes, refried beans and some fresh tortillas is a great way to start your day off. Lunch and dinners are special with the huge Torta with crispy fried carnitas, the shrimp laden Shrimp Quesadilla with cheese and a zesty sauce. Also, try the Camarones Costa Azul (shrimp stuffed with cheese, wrapped in bacon and deep fried), the classic chicken Mole and the #1 Combination Dinner with a cheese enchilada, a terrific crispy taco and a wonderful Chile Relleno are other great choices worth considering.
